UKIP: The First 100 Days
“UKIP: The First 100 Days” is a 2015 mockumentary that aired on Channel 4 in the UK on 16 February 2015, ahead of the general election in May of that year. The film presents a fictional scenario in which the UK Independence Party (UKIP), known for its Eurosceptic views, wins the election, and its leader, Nigel Farage, becomes Prime Minister. Shot in a fly-on-the-wall documentary style, the programme follows the journey of UKIP’s first female Asian MP as she grapples with the party’s immigration policies, which are increasingly unpopular with the public. Priyanga Burford portrays Deepa Kaur, the newly elected MP for the Romford constituency.
