When Reggie is left to fend for himself on the harsh city streets by his irresponsible owner, Doug, he initially can’t believe that his cherished owner would intentionally abandon him. However, after teaming up with Bug, a quick-witted and outspoken stray who relishes his independence and thinks that having owners is foolish, Reggie comes to understand that he was trapped in a harmful relationship and starts to recognize Doug as the unfeeling scoundrel he truly is.
