Sign Painters
In the not-so-distant past, specifically the 1980s, hand-painted lettering adorned storefronts, murals, banners, barn signs, billboards, and even street signs. This art was crafted with brush and paint. However, the rise of computer-generated, die-cut vinyl lettering and inkjet printing has introduced a monotonous uniformity to our surroundings. Thankfully, there is a resurgence of interest in traditional sign painting, sparking a revival of the craft. “SIGN PAINTERS” delves into the history of this art form and shares the stories of over twenty sign painters practicing their trade in various cities across the United States.
