Shake Hands with the Devil

Canadian Lt. General Romeo Dallaire served as the military leader of the UN mission in Rwanda, and this film presents a personal and painfully true account of his experiences during the 1994 genocide. While it may not be as emotionally stirring as the earlier film Hotel Rwanda, nor as focused on drama and emotional impact, it remains a bleak and disturbing portrayal.
