Yin Yang Yo!

Yin Yang Yo!

Yin Yang Yo! is an animated TV series from Canada and the United States, created by Bob Boyle II and produced by Jetix Animation Concepts. It is the third original series from Jetix. The show first aired in the U.S. on Jetix on October 2, 2006, following a preview on August 26, 2006. In the UK, it premiered on Jetix on February 5, 2007, after a sneak peek on January 27, 2007, and it made its Canadian debut on Family Channel on March 25, 2006. The series features a team of writers and animators who have worked on shows like Fairly OddParents, Family Guy, Kim Possible, and Danny Phantom. Steve Marmel, the head writer and an anime enthusiast, drew inspiration from anime and anime-influenced series such as Teen Titans and FLCL. The story follows two anthropomorphic rabbits, Yin and Yang, and their mentor, a panda named Yo, who is a master of a fictional mystical martial art called Woo Foo. The second season of the series began on December 31, 2007, and concluded on April 18, 2009. In 2007, the show was nominated for a British Academy Children’s Award in the International category by BAFTA but was beaten by Stephen Hillenburg’s SpongeBob SquarePants. Disney XD Canada aired reruns of the series from its launch on June 1, 2011, until late 2012.
