S.e.r.p.
In the film “S.E.R.P.,” a gifted software developer finds himself imprisoned and isolated after his search engine responds affirmatively to the query, “Is the government of the United States evil?” Faced with desperation but fully aware of the impact this answer could have on the public, he negotiates with his captors, agreeing to modify the software in return for his release. As they delve into understanding why the program addressed an ethical question and seek ways to alter its response, both the programmer and his interrogators face challenges to their beliefs and patience. This suspenseful and darkly humorous movie explores themes of coercion, innovation, and the moral complexities of doing good in the service of evil.
