This sparked a massive uprising, with hundreds of thousands of people across the nation questioning the validity of Putin’s leadership. Among the protesters was a band of young, radical feminist punk musicians known as Pussy Riot. Donning vibrant balaclavas, tights, and summer dresses, they boldly performed “Mother Mary, Banish Putin!” inside Moscow’s most esteemed cathedral. As a result, they now find themselves subjected to a “show” trial.
