Purani Jeans

“Purani Jeans” is a film that draws on the idea that friendships, much like a well-worn pair of jeans, improve with time. The story intensifies over a summer as a group of young men face pivotal decisions involving love, intimacy, camaraderie, envy, heartache, and betrayal, ultimately leading to fractured friendships. The narrative follows Siddharth as he revisits his past, aiming to mend the bonds with his four childhood friends from a small town in Himachal Pradesh, India. Upon returning to India from the United States, Siddharth is confronted by memories of his youth. He navigates through these challenges, rectifying past mistakes and rekindling friendships. By the end, Siddharth returns to New York as a changed man, reconciled with his history and embracing a more joyful present. He carries with him the conviction that friendships, like old jeans, only get better with age.
