Non Plus Ultras
NON PLUS ULTRAS is a comedy infused with social commentary. It offers a satirical glimpse into a brief period in the lives of five ardent supporters of a Prague football team, who are part of the hardcore fan base known as ultras or hooligans. These individuals’ lives are centered around football, and they idolize their “world-renowned” English counterparts, emulating them without question. The unofficial leader of this group is Bejcak, portrayed by David Novotny, a naturally authoritative and charismatic man in his early thirties. Despite his intelligence, he often uses foreign words in slightly inappropriate contexts. The oldest in the group is Tycka, played by Vladimir Dlouhy, a solitary forty-year-old whom Bejcak has taken under his wing. Tycka is significantly older than the rest. The group also includes Pejsek, a stammering young man played by Karel Zima, who is obsessed with everything “English.” He is joined by the not-so-bright Potapec, portrayed by Michal Novotny, and the nimble Vocko, played by Matej Hadek, who is always coming up with new mischievous antics.
