Meet My Mom

Ten-year-old Jared Marshall’s world fell apart following his parents’ divorce a year ago. His father has since prioritized his career, while his mother moved them from Iowa to California to live with her mother and pursue a new job. When Jared’s class writes letters to U.S. soldiers stationed in Bosnia, he connects with the compassionate Sergeant First Class Vince Carerra. Vince, who grew up without a father and went through a divorce due to his wife’s infidelity during his deployment, begins exchanging letters with Jared, offering him ‘fatherly’ guidance. After Vince’s unit returns to Fort Sebastian, he visits Jared’s home and is warmly received. Vince becomes Jared’s personal baseball coach and, with a little help from Cupid, starts dating Jared’s mother. However, they agree not to make any long-term commitments due to the possibility of Vince being redeployed.
