Holding These Moments

In early 2016, Dan Elswick set out to capture BANE’s last tour across the United States. What began as a tribute to his favorite band evolved into something much deeper. At a time when hardcore music was drifting away from its punk origins, BANE stood out by challenging listeners both musically and lyrically. The band, consisting of five members, chose to live and create music by their own standards. After twenty years of winning over fans with their genuine approach as both individuals and musicians, they faced the inevitable pressures of personal life and self-doubt. BANE made a bold decision to conclude their journey with a final album and tour. “Holding These Moments” delves into the difficulties of living and creating art on one’s own terms, exploring the artist’s internal battle with relevance and the pursuit of a meaningful life through their craft. Through in-depth interviews with the band, their fans, and friends, the film reveals the profound impact of those who choose to live life differently.
