Free State

Jeanette, a stunning and progressive law student, chooses to focus on her studies while her boyfriend fulfills his national military duty, with plans to get engaged upon his return. During a summer break spent with her father in the Free State, a chance encounter with a charming Indian man leads to an unforeseen romantic involvement. Despite cautions against following her heart, she opts to explore this new relationship. They meet in secret, as interracial relationships were illegal at the time.
