Expecting a Miracle

L.A. engineer Pete Stanhope is eager to halt the costly and stressful IVF treatments he and his wife, Donna, have been undergoing, and instead explore the option of adoption, but Donna is not on board with this idea. To ease the tension in their marriage, they decide to take a romantic getaway to Mexico. However, their car breaks down in the quaint village of Dommatina, where the residents live contentedly. Pete seeks assistance from the sole mechanic, Juan Salazar, and also helps the wise father Arturo with the preparations for the village’s annual festival. Juan’s younger brother, Pepillo, who has a disability, is set to perform in the ‘flying act’. As Pete and Donna spend time with the boy and embrace the village’s simple joys, they may find a new perspective on their own future.
