In Nelson, New Zealand, a twelve-year-old named Ben is eager to construct the winning Kiwi Flyer for the upcoming trolley derby. However, his aspirations are crushed when his father dies in a car accident while bringing home the freshly assembled trolley. When arrogant classmate Shannon and his bully of an older brother, Shane, who will do anything to keep the trophy, disrespect Ben’s deceased father, Ben becomes resolute in his decision to compete in the race to honor his father’s memory.
