Set in 1980s East Germany, this film follows a doctor who is banished to a rural hospital as punishment for applying for an exit visa. As she navigates her new environment, she must decide whom she can trust while planning her escape to the West. The film stars Nina Hoss in a compelling lead performance and was directed by Christian Petzold. It was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.
