After the loss of their parents, Lee takes on the responsibility of raising her nieces, Imogen and Maeve, in a secluded cabin while a lethal pandemic ravages the world outside. For more than a decade, the girls are brought up with strict instructions to never leave the forest, shun all contact with outsiders, and depend solely on Lee as their link to the outside world. Lee has instilled in them the belief that this isolation is essential for survival in a now dangerous and disease-ridden world. However, when Imogen and Maeve come across an injured man in the nearby woods, Lee’s tight grip on them starts to weaken as their trust in her, and everything they’ve been taught, begins to fall apart.
