Let’s All Hate Toronto
Drawing inspiration from the intense dislike that the mere mention of Toronto provokes among most Canadians, filmmakers Albert Nerenberg and Rob Spence embark on a journey with a character known as “Mister Toronto” as he sets off on a nationwide tour to promote appreciation for the city. Throughout their travels, the team encounters a variety of individuals, from those who describe themselves as “recovering Torontonians” to people who have sworn never to visit the city, which the United Nations has recognized as the most culturally diverse in the world. Is this deep-seated resentment simply a case of jealousy, or have the residents of this cosmopolitan hub genuinely done something to upset their disgruntled compatriots?
