The Extraordinary Voyage
A remarkable hand-colored version of Georges Méliès’ iconic 1902 film, “A Trip to the Moon,” was discovered and underwent a 12-year restoration process, culminating in its debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2011. The journey of this film, from its original production over a hundred years ago to its stunning revival in 2011, is chronicled in “The Extraordinary Voyage,” a film by Serge Bromberg and Eric Lange. This documentary will have its world premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on November 11 at 7 PM, alongside the Méliès film, which features a new, impressive soundtrack by the French band AIR.
