The new Thai film “1448 Love Among Us,” directed by a man, explores the relationship between two women. Its promotional poster features the tagline, “A girl-on-girl relationship is something men would never understand.” The narrative brings to mind the American TV movie “If These Walls Could Talk 2,” specifically its first segment, “1961,” which featured performances by Vanessa Redgrave and Marian Seldes. Unlike “1448 Love Among Us,” “If These Walls Could Talk 2” did not market itself as a story beyond the comprehension of certain audiences.
